Man charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: This morning around 3 a.m., police responded to a disturbance call near a King Street business in Chatham.

A 47-year-old Wallaceburg man was located, injured and medical needs were tended to.

Through investigation it was discovered one man, in his 20’s, assaulted the Wallaceburg man, was subsequently arrested and charged with assault.

Man charged with breaching his release conditions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday, June 21 at approximately 10:30 p.m., a 36-year-old Chatham man was observed at a Grand Avenue West business, an address that he was under court conditions not to attend.

Not being able to provide lawful reason why he was there, he was arrested for breaching his court release conditions, and transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and lodged for a bail hearing.

Man charged with domestic related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: This morning around 1:45 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the 65 year old man assaulted his common-law girlfriend after a verbal argument that escalated to physical.

The man was arrested and charged with assault.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and lodged pending a bail hearing.

Road safety

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Over the past 24 hours police responded to 15 motor vehicle collisions in Chatham-Kent.

With the school year ending soon, the Chatham-Kent Police would like to remind all vehicle operators to drive with care and attention to the roadways.
