Police: Public intoxication, assault, bail violation

Public intoxication

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 22, 2019 police attended in Bothwell in regards to a family dispute.

A female family member was visiting from out of town and had become intoxicated and belligerent during the visit.

After getting into a physical altercation with her nephew police were notified.

Upon police arrival the police the police observed the female and her nephew in a scuffle on the front lawn.

Given the level of intoxication the female was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where she was held until she was sober.

Bail violation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: In May of 2019 a Chatham female was released on an Undertaking with a condition that she could not have alcohol in her body while outside of her residence.

On June 22, 2019 the female was observed by police in the middle of the road.

Upon police request the female refused to move onto the sidewalk and continued away from the officer.

Police were able to stop her and it was determined that the woman had consumed alcohol and was in contravention of her release conditions.

She was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where she was held for a bail hearing.

Assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 22, 2019 police attended on Talbot Trail in Blenheim in regards to an assault complaint.

The two men involved had been together during the day doing yard work and were now just visiting.

During the visit the homeowner became angry with his friend and struck him while he was seated.

Police were notified and the homeowner was arrested for Assault, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was released on an Undertaking with a future court date.
