On June 9, 2019 the Wabash Community of Christ awarded their annual Peace Award to three students. Josh Thompson of Chatham received $1000, Brynn Depencier (middle) and Erica Westerberg (right), both from Dresden each received $300.
The Community of Christ Peace Award, is donated to a graduating student who has promoted an awareness of peace in the student’s own life, family life, school life and community life. The purpose of the Community of Christ Peace Award is to prepare new generations of peacemakers, to bring fresh vision to bear on the perplexing problems of poverty, war, and environmental deterioration.
Also, on June 15th the Wabash Community of Christ held a charity yard sale during the Dresden town wide yard sale and thanks to the very generous donations of community members $1020.40 was raised for the Dresden Food Bank.
