Man charged with mischief

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Tuesday night, a man attended his ex-wife’s residence in Wallaceburg as she refused to answer his calls or texts.

When he was refused entry in the home, he broke a window.

Damage to the home was estimated at $300.

The man fled prior to police arrival.

Yesterday morning, the man attended police headquarters and turned himself in.

The 40-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of July 17, 2019.

Man charged with uttering threats

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last Wednesday, police responded to a disturbance outside an apartment building on Thames Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation between the man and a tenant.

Yesterday morning, police located the man and he was arrested.

The 33-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with assault and uttering threats.

He was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with breaching his release conditions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 31, 2019 a man was released from custody with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Shortly after 3 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed the man walking on William Street.

The 49-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Neighbour dispute leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 22, 2019 the man was released from custody with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to abstain from communicating with a specific neighbour.

On Wednesday, as the two crossed paths within their apartment building, the man tried to engage his neighbour into a consensual fight.

Luckily, the neighbour walked away.

Early this morning, the man threatened his neighbour.

The 30-year-old Dresden man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and uttering threats.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police arrested a man on Grand Avenue East wanted by OPP.

The 25-year-old Chatham man was turned over to Essex OPP for court purposes.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Earlier this month, the man attended Shoppers Drug Mart on Queen Street in Chatham and stole two bottles of medication.

Early yesterday morning, police located the man and he was arrested.

The 26-year-old Chatham man was charged with theft under $5,000 and transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police located a man who was wanted on a surety relief warrant.

The 23-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 30, 2019 a woman failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the woman on Gray Street and she was arrested.

The 25-year-old Chatham woman was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Late yesterday afternoon, police located a man in Ridgetown wanted for breaching conditions of his Probation Order.

A 23-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with failing to comply.

He was released pending a future court date of July 17, 2019.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police located a woman wanted for fraud related offences.

The 34-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and released pending a future court date of July 10, 2019.

Woman charged with being intoxicated in a public place

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to the report of an intoxicated woman screaming on Wellington Street.

The woman was taken into custody for her own safety as she was unable to care for herself.

The 53-year-old Chatham woman was charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

She was released when sober.

Industrial accident in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, emergency crews responded to an industrial accident on Communications Road.

A 27-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for medical attention.

The Ministry of Labour was notified and has taken over the investigation.

Theft in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime over the past week, unknown suspects entered an unlocked garage on Elizabeth Street and stole a 2004 red Honda dirt bike and 2006 green Kawasaki dirt bike.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $4,500.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police conducted speed enforcement on Ella Street South in Tilbury.

Two tickets were issued.
