Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 26, 2019 a man was released from custody with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to report to Probation and Parole within two days of his release.

Yesterday morning, police were notified that the man failed to report as required.

About an hour later, police located the man walking in Blenheim.

The 23-year-old man was arrested and charged.

He was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with mischief

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that a man threatened a woman who attended his home and damaged her vehicle.

The 45-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with mischief and uttering threats.

He was released pending a future court date of July 30, 2019.

Man charged with uttering threats

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police received information that a man was threatening his landlord via text messages.

The 23-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with uttering threats.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man assaulted a young girl in the home.

The 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault.

He was released pending a future court date of July 26, 2019.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, Walpole Island Police located a man wanted for breaching his release conditions by failing to sign in.

The 31-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and turned over to Chatham-Kent Police for court purposes.

He was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 4 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed a woman wanted for failing to comply with her release conditions in the area of a motel on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

The 32-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 6:30 a.m. this morning, police arrested a man wanted for breaching his release conditions by not residing at the address approved by the Courts or signing in to police headquarters.

The 40-year-old Chatham man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with driving while under suspension

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 8 p.m. last night, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on St. Clair Street near Poplar Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, the officer learned that the man was suspended from driving due to a novice violation.

The 18-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to stop for a red light and driving while under suspension.

He will be required to attend Provincial Offences Court on August 28, 2019.

The vehicle he was driving was towed from the scene and impounded for 7 days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.

The owner of the vehicle was notified.
