Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime overnight on July 5 to July 6, a garden shack located at a business on Keil Drive South in Chatham was entered.

Suspects then stole cash from inside the shack.

Chatham-Kent Police were called and are continuing the investigation.

Uttering a threat leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday, July 6, 2019, a man was riding his bike past another man on Park Lane in Tilbury.

Both men engaged in a brief argument after which one told the other that he would blow his head off with a shotgun.

The cyclist called police and reported the threat.

Police located the man at his residence and arrested him.

The 74-year-old Tilbury man was charged with Utter Threat to Cause Bodily Harm and brought to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters.

He was later released with a future court date of July 31, 2019.

Residential break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: During the evening hours of July 5, 2019, unknown suspects forced entry into an Edgar Street residence in Chatham by prying open the back door.

Once inside, they removed a large number of DVDs and PlayStation 4 games as well as a quantity of cash.

Two females facing charges of assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At approximately 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019, a female was walking through Tecumseh Park in Chatham during an event.

She was confronted by two other females and was punched in the face.

She was not injured and the assailants fled the area.

Police were called and were able to locate both the accused parties later that night.

A 20-year-old female and a 16-year-old youth were charged with assault and released with a future court date of August 2, 2019.

Man arrested on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 24, 2018 Chatham-Kent Police conducted a fraud investigation and as a result, a warrant was issued for a male in regards to Fraud, Possession of Stolen Property and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. this morning, an officer was on routine patrol and observed this man walking on Queen Street in Chatham.

The 33-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
