“Experiences & Activities” Silent Auction

A tour in a classic car, behind the scenes exploration of the Capitol Theatre, a tour of historic downtown Chatham, private classes in yoga, pottery and painting, home musical entertainment, award-winning CK wines and specialty food baskets are some of the items in the unusual “Experiences & Activities Silent Auction” . You could even start to learn to juggle or to belly dance.

Details of the silent auction process plus full descriptions of prizes are currently available at www.chathamcca.ca . On-line bidding is currently open and will continue until 5.00pm on Friday 26 th July – the start of the annual summer ARTcrawl parade in historic downtown Chatham.

ARTcrawl begins at ARTspace at 165 ½ King Street West in Chatham with the opening of Paul Butler’s Collage Party and Community Art Show at 6.00pm. Parade along King Street West to William Street Cafe for special food samplings and a look at more local art. Thames Art Gallery is the final destination of the ARTcrawl Parade where five Canadian outsider artists – including local favourite Laurie Langford – look at contemporary life through collage and assemblage in the exhibition “Remis Collective: We Come in Pieces” .

A special advantage for those attending ARTcrawl is being able to make final in-person bids on all “Experiences & Activities Silent Auction” items from 8.00pm to 9.00pm at the Thames Art Gallery. Winning bids will be confirmed within 24 hours of the close of the silent auction. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or e-transfer.

Organised by the registered charity, Chatham Cultural Centre Association, (CCCA) all proceeds from the “Experiences & Activities Silent Auction” will fund educational activities at the Chatham Cultural Centre. The Centre houses the Thames Art Gallery, Kiwanis Theatre and Chatham-Kent Museum. Historic Milner House and ARTspace can also benefit from funds raised by this innovative auction. The CCCA is currently funding the monthly free family fund days held monthly at the Thames Art Gallery.
