A Chatham-Kent Police Service officer helped deliver a baby girl earlier this week.

“On July 9, 2019 at approximately 12:48 p.m. the communication center received a call from a male party stating his wife was in labour and the baby was not waiting,” police officials said in a media release.

“At 12:51 p.m. Constable (Gary) Oriet was on scene and assisted with the delivery of this feisty little baby girl.”

Police officials say mom and baby were transported to hospital for further medical assistance.

“We are happy to say all are doing well,” police officials stated.

“Welcome to the world little one, you were in great hands. Great job (Constable) Oriet.”
