Police: Impaired driving, shoplifting, warrants

Impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 11, 2019 at approximately 1:23 a.m. police received a complaint of a suspected impaired driver.

The vehicle was located by police a short time later.

The female driver was provided with a breath demand, instructions and two demonstrations on how to provide a proper breath sample into the approved screening device.

When she failed to provide a proper sample after numerous attempts, the 56 year-old Chatham woman was arrested for Fail to Comply.

She was released with a future court date.

Shoplifting

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 11, 2019 at 12:01 p.m. a 27 year-old female was arrested for shoplifting at a Grand Ave. W. business in Chatham.

Through investigation, it was discovered the female committed the same offences at two other Chatham businesses and was currently wanted on a warrant issued by the Windsor Police Service.

She was released with a future court date and transported to Windsor.

Warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 9, 2019, police were contacted regarding a mischief.

The complainant reported gasoline had been poured inside their vehicle and sugar poured in the gas tank.

On July 12, 2019 at approximately 9:19 p.m., a 57 year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with Mischief under $5,000

He was released on a Promise to Appear with a future court date.

Warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 12, 2019 at approximately 1:39 a.m., police were called to an Adelaide St. N. address in Chatham for a domestic dispute.

Through investigation, it was discovered a 25 year-old male party that was involved in this matter, was wanted on an outstanding warrants for failing to comply with his probation order.

The male party was subsequently arrested, transported to police headquarters and released on a Promise to Appear and Officer in Charge Undertaking.
