The Wallaceburg Legion Branch 18 held their annual ‘Christmas in July’ event this past Saturday, July 13.

The menu consisted of turkey with all the trimmings, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and ice cream for dessert.

There was even a boat decorated with lights, complete with a dog sitting on deck wearing a Santa Hat.

The Legion presented a first prize to Dr. Dudley, and her husband Dale, as the winner’s of the Boat Decoration contest.

Kym Babula spoke to the Sydenham Current on behalf of herself, Dave Lauzon, and the Canadian Legion, Br. 18.

“This event was just something fun that Dave and I wanted to start,” Babula said.

“So, it’s Christmas in July, and boats come in with decorations, and we do a barbecued Turkey dinner. The funds from the tickets get spread throughout the Legion, wherever they are needed.”

There were approximately 85 people in attendance at the annual event.
