As part of the grand opening of Gateway’s Cascades Casino Chatham today, August 8, the municipality will formally accept the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s cheque for $884,638 representing funds provided to Chatham-Kent through the OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement.
The presentation will take place immediately following the 4 p.m. ribbon cutting for the new $36 million casino at the corner of Richmond Street and Keil Drive.
The opening ceremony will feature members of Gateway Casino senior corporate management, officials of OLG and a number of local dignitaries including Mayor Darrin Canniff and Chatham-Kent-Leamington MPP Rick Nicholls.
