Bernard “Bernie” Caron

Mr. Bernard “Bernie” Alfred Caron, a resident of Chatham, passed away on Thursday , September 5, 2019 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus, in Chatham, at the age of 70.

Bernie was born in Chatham and was a son of the late Joseph and Ruth (Lachine) Caron.

Beloved husband of Jan Dawson.

Predeceased by his first wife Brenda Joyce (Bechard) Caron.

Loving father of B.J. (Lisa) Caron, Stacy Caron (Jen), Shaun Caron, Sheri (John) Somerville, Tracey (Sam) Riccardi, Shelley (John) Rolo and Kelly (Bryan) Asher.

Sadly missed by his grandchildren Matt (Sarah), Julia, Amanda, Myah, Kaiden, Nicolas (Amber), Sergio, Michael, Lorenzo, Alicia, Kayla, Tianna, Kayden and Emelya and 2 great grandchildren.

Kind brother of Leonard (Mary Ellen) Caron, Connie (Paul) Durdle, Wayne (Robin) Caron, Bill (Patty) Caron and Angela (Eddie) Labadie and many nieces and nephews.

Bernie was an avid ice fisherman and loved to spend time at Mitchell’s Bay. He spent many years working at Michigan Sugar as well as owned the “Bernie’s Place”store in Mitchell’s Bay. He was known affectionately by many as Bern-Dogg.

The family would like to thank the staff at 4A from the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for their care and compassion.

Following his wishes, cremation will take place.

The late Bernie Caron rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.  

A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Fortress Tavern (429 Grand Ave E, Chatham).
We request you bring your thoughts, prayers and fondest memories of “Bern-Dogg”.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation may be left at the funeral home.
