Organizers with Home James, an organization who provides designated driving services during the holiday season each year, are in desperate need of new volunteers.
Home James officials say they have a “heavy heart” as they have reached out to the public for help.
“Many of you know of CK’s “Home James” program,” Home James officials posted on social media.
“We are a non-profit, free service to get people home who are unable to drive, with their vehicles, over the holiday season.”
Home James officials added: “Like many groups, we are facing a severe shortage of volunteers. While our call volume is climbing every year, our volunteer base has been declining. We are in desperate need of new committee members, and volunteers, even if you can only give one night over the season.”
Home James officials said they decided on Wednesday night to try to get news coverage over their dilemma.
We “will have to make the decision based on response by October 1,” Home James officials stated.
“Please help me get the word out, that ride you give may save a life.”
