Kyle Dawson selected by San Diego in NLL Draft

A former Wallaceburg Red Devils star was selected on Tuesday in the 2019 National Lacrosse League Draft.

Kyle Dawson was selected in the third round, 41st overall, by the San Diego Seals.

“The Seals added some offensive power in the third-round with the selection of Kyle Dawson,” the team stated in a press release.

“The Ontario native scored 25 goals and 47 points in the regular season with the Nanaimo Timbermen before leading the team in goals in the playoffs. Dawson was the recipient of the Keith McEachren Trophy honored as the BCJALL Most Sportsmanlike Player.”

Last season Dawson played Junior ‘A’ lacrosse for the Nanaimo Timbermen in British Columbia.

Dawson had 25 goals and 22 assists for 47 points in 19 regular season games last season. Dawson also scored 10 goals and added 5 assists in six playoff games last year for the Timbermen.

In the previous year with the Wallaceburg Red Devils, Dawson scored 53 goals and added 34 assists in 19 games. He also scored 12 goals and added 13 assists in 9 playoffs games for the Red Devils.
