Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last weekend, a man was released from custody with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Wheatley woman.

On Monday night, the man texted and called the woman.

Yesterday morning, the 38-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Woman charged with failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 9, 2019 a woman failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Last night, police located the woman and she was arrested.

The 64-year-old Shrewsbury woman has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with breach of probation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 2 a.m. this morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious man in the area of Poplar Street in Chatham.

Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was currently bound by a curfew and also wanted for failing to comply with his Probation Order.

A 34-year-old Chatham man was arrested on the outstanding warrant and additionally charged with another count of breaching his Probation Order.

He was released pending a future court date of October 16, 2019.

Disturbance leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a disturbance on King Street in Chatham between family members.

A 29-year-old Chatham man, was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats.

He was released pending a future court date of October 16, 2019.

Theft of motor vehicle in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 3:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to a break and enter at Chatham Chrysler.

Through investigation, police learned that unknown suspects forced their way into the dealership and stole the keys for a 2016 silver Dodge Challenger.

The suspects fled in the stolen vehicle which was last seen bearing Ontario license plates CDHS 816.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $40,000.
