Man arrested on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at approximately 9:30 p.m., police observed a male riding a bicycle in the area of Spencer Ave. in Chatham with improper lighting- contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Police attempted to make a lawful stop of the cyclist but the male fled eventually jumping off his bike and running away through backyards.

The male attempted to hide in a backyard but was located by police and arrested.

During the arrest, the male struggled and resisted police before being taken into custody.

It was found that this male had a number of warrants for his arrest.

The 35-year-old Chatham man was charged with Obstruct Police and held pending a bail hearing.

Warrant arrest leads to further charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at around 3:20 a.m., police stopped a cyclist on Richmond Street in Chatham for a Highway Traffic Act offence.

Upon obtaining the identity of the cyclist, police learned that he was wanted for failing to comply with a probation order.

The male was arrested, searched and found to have a quantity of suspected methamphetamine on him.

The 36-year-old Chatham man was held in custody for the outstanding warrant and further charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday October 2, 2019, police were called to a Pioneer Line address in regards to a break and enter.

Police found that an unknown suspect had entered a utility shed sometime overnight by climbing through a window.

Once inside, suspects made off with approximately $800 in various tools.

Bail violation in Thamesville

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at approximately 1:17 p.m, police were called to a Sarah Street residence in Thamesville for a report of a breach of undertaking.

Police learned that a female, who is on court conditions not to associate with another male party, had screamed at the male earlier today.

Police located the 42-year-old Thamesville resident and arrested her for Failing to Comply with Undertaking.

She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where she was held pending a bail hearing.

Business break and enter in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at approximately 5 a.m., police were called to a car dealership business on Mill Street West in Tilbury in regards to a break and enter.

Upon arrival, police learned that suspects had entered the building by smashing a door with a rock.

The investigation is ongoing and, at this time, it is unknown if anything was removed from the business.

The crime is believed to be related to other break and enters into other car dealership businesses in Blenheim and Chatham.

Man charged with possession of a concealed weapon

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday October 2, 2019 at approximately 10:41 p.m., as a result of a person stop on King Street East in Chatham, a man was found breaching his curfew.

The man was arrested and as a result of a search, two large knives were found concealed in his sleeves.

Police also located a quantity of methamphetamine as well as break-in-tools on the man which was also a breach of his release conditions.

The 34-year old Chatham male was charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 2, Possession of a Concealed Weapon and Possession of Break and Enter Tools.

He was held pending a bail hearing.

Man charged fail to comply with recognizance

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thursday October 3, 2019 at approximately 1:20 a.m., police received information that a male was at a residence in Wheatley that he was prohibited from attending.

Police located the male on the property and he was arrested.

The 38-year old Leamington male was charged with Failing to Comply with Recognizance and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
