Illegal grow-op busted, three people charged

Three people have been charged after police executed a search warrant in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege yesterday, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant at a residence in Chatham in order to search for items related to an offence under the Cannabis Act.

“Upon arrival, officers located an indoor cannabis grow operation that had been harvested and partially dismantled,” police officials said in a media release.

“During the search a quantity of psilocybin was located.”

A 33-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, both of Chatham, were charged with being in possession of a controlled substance.

They were released pending a future court date of October 31, 2019.

A 27-year-old Chatham woman was charged with being in possession of a controlled substance and failing to comply with her release conditions.

She was released pending a future court date of October 31, 2019.
