‘Operation Impact 2019’ launching this weekend

Today marks the beginning of Operation Impact 2019, a national public awareness campaign aimed at making Canada’s roads the safest in the world.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say by promoting safe driving behaviours, we hope to help prevent collisions, save lives and reduce injuries on our roads.

Please be advised that officers will be out in full force this Thanksgiving holiday weekend focusing their efforts on road safety, specifically those behaviours that put all road users at risk: impaired driving due to alcohol or drugs, aggressive driving, distracted driving and lack of seat belt use.

The Chatham-Kent Police would like to remind all motorists that ‘your actions have impact.’

This year’s theme emphasizes the role that each of us play in support of road safety here in our community.

Don’t let the impact of your choices be a collision on our roads.

Let’s make this a Happy Thanksgiving for everyone.

Operation Impact is organized by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP), under the leadership of the CACP Traffic Safety Committee, in support of Canada’s Road Safety Strategy 2025.
