Be friends

By Glen Turner – Special to the Sydenham Current

I’ve always considered myself to be quite lucky.

I’ve been able to call many people “friend”.

Now that I’ve been on my own for many years, I value friendship even more than I have in the past.

What feels better than having someone be there for you?

Someone who will stand up for you…

Someone with whom I can laugh and someone who will laugh at ME when it’s needed.

And it often it IS needed.

I try and support my friends and only hope they’ll do the same for me.

Usually they do.

I disagree with friends on many things, and they with me.

But, remaining friends despite differences is even more meaningful.

Be open to new people, folks.

Sometimes they turn out to be great friends.

Spread your network.

Be friends!
