Kids’ Future Draw winner announced

Submitted Photo: United Way Chatham-Kent

For the past six weeks United Way of Chatham-Kent had been out in the community selling tickets for their first Kid’s Future 50/50 draw. Inside the 425 Centre for Innovation, the lottery was announced live on Facebook at noon on Friday, October 11, with the winning number A-7121666 drawn.

Shortly after we were contacted by, Chatham resident Linda Butler who had purchased her winning ticket the day before. Linda was a bit star struck at winning the $23,045 jackpot when she picked up her giant cheque.

United Way would like to thank everyone who had purchased a ticket. With your support the proceeds of every ticket sold will be directly invested back into local programing that focus on improving the lives of children and youth in Chatham-Kent. They would also like to thank the local businesses for their support and allowing the volunteers to sell on their premises, thank you to the local media including the newspapers, radio and YourTV for helping the word get out there and a huge thank you to our volunteers who were everywhere over the past six weeks.
