Update: Charges laid after fatal Dawn-Euphemia crash

Lambton OPP officials allege: Charges have been laid after a crash in Dawn-Euphemia claimed the lives of three people last month in Dawn-Euphemia.

On October 4, 2019 at approximately 1:30 a.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Lambton County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Dawn-Euphemia and Oil Springs Fire Departments attended Oil Heritage Road between Aberfeldy Line and Gum Bed Line in Dawn-Euphemia Township following a single-vehicle collision.

Three occupants were confirmed deceased at the scene.

The driver was transported to hospital as a precaution.

A 22-year-old Windsor man has been charged with the following offences, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada:

– Dangerous Operation causing Death (three counts);

– Dangerous Operation causing Bodily Harm;

– Criminal Negligence causing Death (three counts);

– Criminal Negligence causing Bodily Harm and with, Obstruct Peace Officer.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia on October 25, 2019.
