Salvation Army needs volunteers, sets $480,000 fundraising goal

The Salvation Army of Chatham-Kent is in need of volunteers and they have set their fundraising goal for the season as well.

“Our 2019 Christmas Kettle Campaign starts this Thursday, Nov 14,” Captain Karen Holland said in an email to the media.

“Our goal this year is $480,000.”

The fundraising targets included the kettles and the mail-outs as well, Holland said.

The campaign will be running in Chatham, Blenheim, Ridgetown and Wallaceburg:

– Chatham – November 14 to December 24

– Wallaceburg – November 21 to December 24

– Blenheim – November 27 to December 7

– Ridgetown – December 9 to December 24

“We are in desperate need of volunteers,” Holland said.

“For Chatham, Ridgetown and Blenheim call Krysia at 519-437-1784. For Wallaceburg call Pam at 519-437-1769.”

Holland said there will be two debit/credit machines in various locations throughout Chatham this year.

“For those who don’t carry cash,” Holland said.
