‘Amazing turnout’ at Wallaceburg blood donor clinic

Canadian Blood Services officials are thrilled with the turnout at the blood donor clinic held this week in Wallaceburg

Stephanie Wilkinson, the local territory manager for Canadian Blood Services, said in an email the goal was to collect at least 72 donations at the Tuesday clinic.

“That was surpassed with 79,” Wilkinson said.

“What an amazing turnout from the Wallaceburg community. Those donations will go a long way towards supporting patients in need of blood.”

Wilkinson said the clinic saw some first time donors as well.

“We were also very pleased to see eight first time donors come out, which is more than double what we historically tend to see at Wallaceburg events,” she said.

The next local clinic will be held on Tuesday, November 19 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre in Dresden.
