Annual Community Giving Event Success

Community Living Wallaceburg held their 2nd annual Community Giving Event on October 17th and 18th , where members within the community were able to find gently used clothing and small household items for their homes.

Thanks to the amazing team of people behind the scenes, the event was a huge success and assisted approximately 130 members within the community. Four (4) additional organizations benefited from this event, including: The Salvation Army (receiving $175.55 and a box of canned goods for their food bank), Big Fix Grassroots Cat Rescue (profiting $370 through their BBQ), Re:find (receiving donation of all remaining clothing for their store), and the community at
large.

This is the second year that Community Living Wallaceburg has hosted this Community Giving Event. Each year, the organization has collected gently used clothing and small household items, generously donated by staffs and community members. The idea of holding a community Giving Event began in 2018 as a way for staff to give back to their community’ something that has blossomed into a way for members of the community to do the same.

Community Living Wallaceburg would like to greatly thank each and every person who was able to make a donation or volunteer at the Community Giving Event, as the success of the event could not have been possible without you. Special thanks to the independent living team for their involvement at large, and Megan Kennedy and Kim Babo for their relentless amounts of detail and planning that they put into the event.
