baCK home for the holidays

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent’s Community Attraction and Promotion (CAP) team is hosting the annual ‘baCK to Chatham-Kent’ Home for the Holidays celebration. Mayor Canniff will launch the month-long campaign to honour residents that have moved baCK to Chatham-Kent with a flag raising on Friday, December 6, at 10:00 a.m. in front of the Civic Centre in Chatham.

The baCK campaign launched in 2013 to encourage those originally from the community to consider returning to Chatham-Kent. The campaign shares stories of people who have made the decision to come baCK and highlights the opportunities here. “The baCK Home for the Holidays campaign cultivates opportunities for young people to reconnect to the great things Chatham-Kent has to offer. It keeps our youth rooted to Chatham-Kent and lets them know the community will always be their home” said Mayor Canniff.

baCK Home for the Holidays events include:

  • Flag raising with Mayor Canniff at the Civic Centre on December 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
  • baCK2CK Stories shared over social @baCK2CK and at chatham-kent.ca/baCK
  • baCK Home for the Holidays Jitney in partnership with Blenheim Golden Acres Curling Club, December 14, 6:30 pm
  • YconneCKt Toy Packing at Chatham Goodfellows on December 17, 6:00 p.m.
  • Wild Rose Movie Night at the Capitol Theatre, December 27, 7:30 p.m.
  • After Party at The River Rock Social House, December 27, 9:00 p.m.
  • Home for the Holidays “Memories on Ice” sponsored skates at:
      • Wheatley Arena, December 22, 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
      • Thames Campus Arena, December 26, 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
      • Blenheim Arena, December 27, 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
      • Dresden Arena, December 29, 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
