Police: Rollover crash, police pursuit, impaired driving

Impaired

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 7, 2019 at 5:10 a.m. police attended Baldoon Road in Chatham in regards to a single motor vehicle rollover.

The driver was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for breath tests which registered almost double the legal limit.

The driver was charged with Impaired and being over the legal limit of 80 mgs.

The 24-year-old Chatham woman was released with a future court date.

Damages were estimated at $20,000.

Warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 7, 2019 police located a 25-year-old Chatham man who had a warrant for Domestic related assault and Dangerous driving offences which occurred earlier in the week.

The male was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was held for bail.

Warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: In October of 2019 a 23 Chatham woman was arrested on drug charges and released with a later court
date.

The female failed to attend for her court appearance and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On December 7, 2019 the woman turned herself into police on the outstanding warrant.

She was arrested and released with a future court date.

Domestic

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 6, 2019 police attended a Wallaceburg residence in regards to an assault complaint.

Investigation revealed that the male had shoved a female against the wall and on a previous occasion had threatened physical harm.

The accused was located, arrested for Uttering Threats and Assault.

He was transported to CKPS Headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.

Shoplifting

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 6, 2019 a Chatham man attended a store on St. Clair St and left with approximately $80 worth of cologne making no attempt to pay for the items.

The man was located a short distance away, arrested and released with a future court date.

Warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 6, 2019 an officer on general patrol observed a male he knew to have an outstanding warrant.

When the man observed the officer he fled on foot only to be caught in a back yard after a brief foot pursuit.

The Chatham male was arrested on eight outstanding CKPS warrants, transported to CKPS Headquarters where he was processed and held for bail hearing. 

R.I.D.E.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 6, 2019 Police conducted a R.I.D.E. check in Chatham which resulted in 165 vehicles being checked and with no infractions.

Impaired/pursuit

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 7, 2019 just after midnight officers on general patrol observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed with sparks flying from the wheels.

Police attempted a traffic stop at which time the vehicle fled from police with no regard for traffic lights.

After a brief pursuit the vehicle pulled into a parking lot.

The driver was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and transported to OPP for breath tests which registered over double the legal limit.

The driver was charged with Impaired, being over the legal limit of 80 mgs as well as three Highway Traffic Act offences.
