Syringe exchange leads to two arrests

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 27 at approximately 7 p.m. two men were observed exchanging a syringe.

The men were arrested and searched incident to arrest.

The 43-year-old man trafficking the substance was found to be in possession of another syringe full of a substance believed to be illicit drugs.

He was charged for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and released with a future court date.

The 37-year-old man purchasing the CDSA was arrested and searched as well.

He had concealed the syringe in a body cavity and required medical attention to have it removed.

He was charged with possession of a control substance and released with a future court date.
