Town Hall Meeting being held in Wallaceburg on Thursday

Wallaceburg Neighbourhood Watch is holding a Town Hall style event on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the UAW Hall in Wallaceburg from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Three guest speakers have confirmed their attendance for the meeting:

– Gary Conn, Chief of the Chatham-Kent Police Service

– John Norton, General Manager of Community Development & Chief Legal Officer for the Municipality of Chatham-Kent

– Marjorie Crew, Chatham-Kent Councillor & Founder of East Side Pride

“The idea for a Town Hall meeting stemmed from a Neighbourhood Watch meeting held in the fall, where the upstairs boardroom of the Wallaceburg Municipal Centre was jam packed with over 60 concerned residents,” Neighbourhood Watch officials say.

“Brief presentations will be made by Chief Conn, Norton and Crew and each presenter will field questions from those in attendance.”

Neighbourhood Watch has been encouraging community members to send their questions in ahead of time by emailing neighbourhoodwatchwallaceburg@gmail.com or sending the group a message on their Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/WallaceburgNeighbourhoodWatch/.

An event page has also been created on Facebook.

Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to RSVP on the page, in order to give the committee a better idea about numbers.

Light refreshments will be available at the meeting.
