Food recall warning issued for certain Sealtest milk products

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a food recall warning, as certain milk products may be unsafe due to presence of sanitizer.

“Consumers should not consume the recalled products,” Canadian Food Inspection Agency officials said.

The following products have been sold in Ontario and Quebec:

“Check to see if you have the recalled products in your home,” Canadian Food Inspection Agency officials say.

“Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased. Food contaminated with sanitizer residue may not look or smell spoiled. Consumption of this product may cause symptoms such as nausea, upset stomach or vomiting. The affected products should not be consumed.”

Canadian Food Inspection Agency officials say this recall was triggered by the company.

“The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products,” Canadian Food Inspection Agency officials say.

“If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings. The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing the recalled products from the marketplace.”

Canadian Food Inspection Agency officials say there has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of these products.

Agropur Cooperative officials say the recall was initiated as a result of an investigation following one reported complaint of discomfort associated with the consumption of a product.

“The internal investigation identified the presence of sanitizer residues,” company officials say.

“No other product, format, brand or “best before” dates is affected.”

Company officials added: “Agropur has asked all of its clients to remove the products from their shelves and inventory. We have contacted the CFIA, which is overseeing this voluntary recall. Agropur is committed to providing high quality products and the safety and satisfaction of our consumers is our top priority.”
