Mary Louisa Tumelty of Wallaceburg and formerly of Toronto passed away peacefully at the CKHA-Sydenham Campus on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the age of 91.
Mary is the daughter of the late Edwin McLean & Erma Belle (Campbell) Crowe. Beloved wife of 51 years to James William Tumelty. Loving mother of James Tumelty (Jill Palmer) and Victoria Cocco (Dennis). Dear grandmother of Cameron, Kayla and Sarah. Sister of Judy Andrews of Truro, N.S. and cousin to Margot Kempton. The family is very thankful to Lorraine Stevenson for her enduring friendship. Mary had retired from teaching Special Education and English as a Second Language for the Toronto District School Board. She was a member of the IODE, an avid quilter, volunteer at the hospital and enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends.
The family wishes to thank the Community of Wallaceburg in welcoming back their mother and father in their retirement years. They want a special thanks to the staff of the Oaks Retirement Village for their loving care they showed to our mother. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held in Toronto at a late date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg.
