Donald Day Isaac of Walpole Island First Nation

Donald Day Isaac of Walpole Island First Nation, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the age of 94.

Son of the late Allen & Laura (Day) Isaac. Beloved husband of the late Jean (Sands). Loving father of the late Roy Isaac (Janice), Pamela Fulton (late Pat), Shelly Isaac, the late Buffy Sands (Dale) Donna Isaac-Day (Crocket), Kyle Isaac (Mitch). Dear papa of Kyla, Jenn, Raquel (Lewis) Chris, (Kelly), Pete, Joe and the late Courtland and great papa of Marcus, Donika, Samantha, Kailey, Marquez, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Brittany, Treton, Mikayla, Connor, Raven, Porter, Cherish, Lazarus and Larkin. Brother of the late Harry, Roy, Henry, George, Robert, Angeline, Edison and Gordon. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Don was former Chief of WIFN and also served on Council. He was the last World War II Veteran in the community. He was a bridge operator and founder of our farm Tahgahoning Enterprises, a board member for over 30 years with the North American Indian Travelling College, with London District Chiefs and with other First Nations politically and with economic development. Former board member of Community Living Wallaceburg, was very active in the community, was a friend and advocate to the members and surrounding areas. He loved his community.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 7-9 PM on Friday. Visiting will continue on Saturday, February 8 at the Walpole Island Sports Complex from 11 am – 1 pm with the funeral to begin at 1 pm.
