Woman arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, a woman wanted in connection with a domestic related incident attended police headquarters and turned herself in.

The 29-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.

She was released pending a future court date of March 17, 2020.

Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 10, 2020 a man was released from custody with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to notify police within 24 hours of any change in address.

On Saturday, police attended the man’s last known address and learned that he was no longer staying there.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the man on Park Avenue East in Chatham and he was arrested.

The 36-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with failing to comply.

He remains in police custody.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police conducted speed enforcement on Longwoods Road and later on Four Rod Road.

Eight motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.

Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime within the last month, unknown suspects entered a storage unit on Grand Avenue East and stole approximately $10,000 worth of tools, furniture and art work.

Citizens Police Academy

Today is the last day to apply for our Citizens Police Academy.

Those selected to attend will learn about the daily operations of our Police Service and have the opportunity to participate in a Ride-Along. Classes start in March and will run every Wednesday night for 12 weeks.
