Mrs. Winnifred Annemarie (Leach) Butzer. passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, May 17, 2024 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance in Wallaceburg age of 88 years.
She was born in Chatham and was a daughter of the late Fred and Esther (Truax) Leach. Beloved wife of 67 years to Douglas Butzer. Dear mother of Barbara (Mike) Jones, Verna (Shawn) Dyson, Fred Butzer and David Butzer. Loving grandmother of Scott (Jennifer) Nielsen, Vanessa (Chris) Mackinnon, Jessica Dyson, Lesslie (Carter) Scheetz and great grandmother of Cali Mackinnon, Marissa Nielsen, and Payton Nielsen. Kind sister of Nancy (the late Dr. Douglas) Maynard and predeceased by her brother Robert (the late Marilyn) Leach.
Annemarie graduated in 1956 from the Victoria Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as an R.N. for 40 years in Wallaceburg, Edmonton and Sarnia before retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Trinity United Church and the Church Choir in Wallaceburg for many years. Her 32 years of retirement included extensive travel, enjoying her home on the St. Clair River, many Februarys in Hawaii and visiting family in Western Canada. Annemarie enjoyed knitting for family and charities.
