William ‘Bill’ Urquhart

With love and sadness, on Monday May 20th, we said “till we meet again” to William Patrick Urquhart, better known as Bill. After a long fight with a debilitating and painful disease he left to join his son Michael, his mother Ethel, his father Jeff, and family and friends who had already made that inevitable journey. He was with us for 76 well lived years.

He reluctantly left behind many people he loved- his wife and partner in crime for thirteen years Ruth, son David, David’s wife Stella and oh how he loved his granddaughter Maya. Because three stepsons came along with Ruth, Scott Juryn, his wife Michele, Jaxon and Kinsley, Chris Juryn and his wife Amanda, and Peter Juryn, his wife Keely, Colton and Sydney his family grew. But so did the pride and love he felt for all – especially those five grandchildren.

There were special memories for his first family-David’s mother Carol, her sisters and their families. Drop-ins on the dock were always enjoyed. Brothers, sisters, nieces nephews and cousins held a special spot in his heart.
As a young man he learned the Tool and Dye trade and soon became the “Tool and Dye Guy” going from a shop behind Animal Control to owner of Novatrim. Many lifelong friendships were made there with partners, employees and customers. He could envision, tweak and make almost anything better. Modification should have been his middle name. Facebook and the internet helped him reconnect with many far-away family members, old and not so old friends and the many folks who just loved to laugh along with his many jokes, be mesmerized by his photos and enchanted by his videos.

We will celebrate his amazing life at a later date. His cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231). If you wish to make a donation in Bill’s memory, please consider the Canadian Cancer Society or the St. Clair River Trail.

We will miss you Bill.
