Automated License Plate Recognition system helps police flag down stolen vehicle in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: While travelling to an unrelated call, police were alerted to a stolen vehicle on ALPR (Automated License Plate Recognition) system.

The vehicle was stopped and a 37-year-old Chatham man was placed under arrest.

The vehicle was returned to the registered owner.

The 37-year-old man was charged with driving while under suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.

The stolen vehicle is still under investigation.
