There will be a variety of fun options for the whole family on WAMBO Saturday on the south-side of Wallaceburg.

Wayne Barnier, the manager of the south-side for WAMBO, said there will once again be an assortment of activities.

“We have the usual fire trucks, soap box races, kids bouncies, barrel train ride for the kids and lots of food vendors,” he said.

“We have the flea market again this year. It seems to be coming along pretty good. There is a 52′ bouncy obstacle and then just another little bouncy castle for the little bit smaller kids.”

There will also be some musical entertainment, Barnier said.

“This year we are going to do it again, we are having the 50’s and 60’s show up on the stage on the south-side. We have a group of singers that just do a fantastic job of 50’s and 60’s music. So we are having two shows there. One at 10:45 a.m. and the other one at around 2 p.m.”

New this year, Mad Science will be making an appearance right after the first 50’s and 60’s show.

“They are doing a kids program, Fire and Ice. So that should be really good for the kids,” he said.

Also on the south-side will be the annual cardboard boat races.

“That draws a big crowd there,” Barnier said.

Registration is still taking place and can be done by emailing: wambo.cardboard.boat.races@gmail.com

“If you think you could put a boat together between now and Saturday you might have a chance of getting in,” Barnier said.

“Thanks to Home Hardware as our major sponsor for the cardboard boat racing. They are a big help again this year. Les and gang over there said anybody that registers on the site, it is forwarded over to the store your put on a list and you can come in and get a discount on your duct tape. So that’s a big help.”

Barnier added: “It is going to be just a hoot again. As of right now I believe we have got about 11 boats registered. That is pretty good for the third year now.”

Barnier said there will be plenty of more activities taking place.

“We are looking forward to it and as we speak there is more stuff coming,” he said.

“We have got a peddle tractor display coming. So that should be interesting for the kids and the big kids too. It is coming along good. We have a lot of activities. The stage shows are going to really be good. I have been rehearsing with these people and the show is going to be really, really good for young and old.”

Barnier said there will be some “kid’s costumed characters” walking around the south-side as well.

“It is just going to be a whole lot of fun for everybody in the family,” he said.
