Money dispute leads to threats charges

The Chatham-Kent Police have arrested a man following a criminal harassment investigation.

The man and victim are known to each other, however for the past few months, the two men have been in a dispute over money.

Between November 2013 and February 2014, the man repeatedly attended the victim’s house in Wallaceburg in an attempt to intimidate him.

On at least two occasions, the man exited his vehicle and threatened to assault the victim, burn his house down and burn his parent’s house down.

Around 1:00 a.m. yesterday morning, police located the man and he was arrested.

The 44-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with criminal harassment and three counts of uttering threats.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
