$12 worth of deli meat swiped

cops-2The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman following a shoplifting incident in Wallaceburg yesterday.

Around 4:45 p.m. a man and woman attended No Frills grocery store on Warwick Drive.

The pair was observed placing items in their shopping basket.

The woman then placed a package of deli meat in her purse valued at $12.

Shortly after 5:00 p.m. the pair exited the store without paying for any items.

Through investigation, the investigating officer reviewed store video and recognized the man and woman.

Around 11:40 p.m. last night, the woman was located and arrested.

A 33 year-old woman of Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000.

She was released with conditions pending a future court date.

Police are continuing their efforts to locate the man involved in this incident.
