Betty Tack’s Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts

¼ cup oil
¼ cup soya sauce
2 tbsp. ketchup or 2 tbsp. barbeque sauce.
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. garlic powder
2 cans whole water chestnuts drainedimage
1 lb. bacon cut in half slices

Mix all ingredients except chestnuts and bacon.

Add chestnuts to sauce and marinate overnight.

Wrap each chestnut in half slice of bacon and secure with toothpick. Sprinkle with your favourite spices.

Broil at 500 for 8-10 minutes or until bacon is done. Serve hot. Or cool and put in plastic containers and freeze for later use.
