Man with Wallaceburg ties arrested for home invasion

Daniel BattyeA man with known Wallaceburg ties, who was wanted in connection with a home invasion in Listowel, is in custody.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing their investigation into a home invasion that occurred in Listowel on March 19, 2014 at approximately 4:30 a.m.

Investigation determined three suspects entered a Barber Avenue North residence and assaulted two of the three occupants causing minor injuries. A firearm was brandished during the robbery and the suspects stole a quantity of cash and electronics.

On Friday March 28, 2014 arrest warrants were issued for three suspects.

Daniel Battye, 26, was arrested in Listowel without incident.

Police said Battye had known ties to Wallaceburg.

On Friday afternoon, April 04, 2014, Perth County OPP officers located one of the three suspects.

Two of the wanted individuals remain at large.

Cacie Dawson, a 26 year old female from Kitchener is wanted for: Using Firearm in Commission of Offence and Robbery contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is described as being 5’7” tall, weighing 140 lbs with long blonde hair and blue eyes. She has ties to London, Listowel and Kitchener.

Mathew Drumond, a 27 year old male also from Listowel is wanted for: Using Firearm in Commission of Offence, Robbery, Pointing a Firearm and Uttering Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is described as being 5’10” tall, weighing 187 lbs, medium build with brush cut-style brown hair and hazel eyes. He has ties to London, Listowel and Kitchener.

The suspects are considered armed, dangerous and a risk to public safety.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of these two wanted suspects or who may come into contact with the suspects should not approach them.

Instead, contact police as soon as possible by dialing 9-1-1.
