Learn to like plan ‘B’

From the Pastor’s Pen – By Brian Horrobin

“We’ll have to go to Plan B”.

It’s like trying to feed soggy corn flakes to a toddler who won’t eat his breakfast.

It takes all the momentum out of the equation.

Nobody likes plan B because plan A is what we had in mind.

However, the people who are going places in life are the ones who have learned to live with switching to plan B, and plan C, and plan D.

Let’s face it, we need to accept the reality of the best laid plans of mice and men.

John Maxwell once said that the people that are successful get back up, they re-enter, they recharge.

Plan B doesn’t bother them, he asserts, because while they are doing plan B they’re doing something.

It’s better to be doing plan B and be in the arena of action than to be sitting on the sideline with no plan, doing nothing.

One of the most beautiful scenes of fall foliage I have ever taken in with my eyes was on my honeymoon on a gravel road in Vermont that I was trying to avoid.

But, due to a road closure, my wife and I were forced to take a detour and stumbled across God’s magnificent creation in all of its autumn splendour.
