A 15-year-old Wallaceburg resident is excited to start a new chapter in his young hockey career.

Brady Pataki was recently drafted into the Ontario Hockey League by the Sudbury Wolves. He said draft day was fun, but a bit intense at the same time.

“I got a lot of calls from a lot of different teams, so it was pretty nerve racking going up to the draft. I was pretty nervous, but it was a great experience once I got drafted, it felt pretty good.”

Pataki ended up being drafted in the 4th round, 65th overall.

“I was kind of worried, I was told I was suppose to go second round but ended up going fourth, but it was still pretty good,” he said. “I got excited when I got drafted, I got a call right away from Sudbury. It was a great fun day. It’s a great honour to be drafted.”

Pataki said he knows he has a lot of work to do leading up to next season.

“Just train, hit the gym really hard get bigger, faster and stronger,” Pataki said.

Pataki will be competing in the the OHL Gold Cup next month for the Alliance team.
