Dover man faces drinking and driving charges

drunk-drivingThe Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for impaired driving last night in Chatham.

Shortly after 11:00 p.m. police received information regarding a possible impaired driver in the area of Bear Line Road. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on Riverview Drive.

Through investigation, the officer believed that the driver was operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested. The driver was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

A 39 year-old man of Grande River Line in Dover Township has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

His vehicle was impounded for seven days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.

He has been released pending a future court date
