‘Give her roses on Wednesday’

From The Pastor’s Pen – By Brian Horrobin

I remember a song written by John Fischer back in 1982 called “Roses on Wednesday.”

Fischer was inspired by an older couple in his church who shared such a close relationship in their marriage.

When he asked the husband the secret, one of the things he told John was this: “Give her roses on Wednesday, when everything is blue. Roses are red and your love must be new. It’s easy to love when it’s easy, when you’re in a Friday frame of mind, but loving when living gets busy is what love was waiting for all the time.”

Do you know someone in your life who may benefit from a mid-week pick-me-up?

Why not surprise them this week, you know, on Wednesday, with a hot coffee, or some fresh flowers, or chocolate (who doesn’t like chocolate?), or maybe just a quick phone call to tell them you love them.

Hugs work great, too!

Go ahead, mark it down now and then go make a special Wednesday for someone.

I’m betting that it’ll be special for you, too!
