The Ridgetown 4H Rabbit Agility Club had its first two meetings and it looks like a lot of fun. The 4H Rabbit Agility Club is also known as the Bunny Brats. Club Leaders Phyllis May, Amber Sayers and Junior Leader Becky May have educated the club members on the basics of rabbit agility and training.

Many breeds of rabbits can be used for this fun sport. It is very popular in Europe and gaining in popularity in North America. Rabbits are kept on a pet harness and leash for training and safety. They hop over jumps, through tunnels, and scamper down teeter totters. Many of the obstacles are the same as those seen in dog agility but are smaller in size.

The rabbits used in the 4H Rabbit Agility Club have been hand raised by the leaders for club members to use or members can bring their own to train. This is one of the best things about 4H. You can join a club to learn about farm animals and not have to own one yourself. You can live in the city and learn hands on about animals and agriculture.

If you are between the ages of 9-21 and interested in joining a 4H Club in Chatham Kent, check out our Chatham Kent 4H page or on 4H Ontario on the web at http://www.4-hontario.ca/
