H&B reunion coming to the Moose Lodge

Former employees and sales reps from H&B are set to reunite.

A reunion has been scheduled and will be taking place at the Moose Lodge in Wallaceburg on Saturday, May 24.

Mary O’Neil, organizer for the event, said the former Wallaceburg factory has been closed five years this month.

“It was such a wonderful place to work,” O’Neil said. “John Hillerich worked really hard at creating a family atmosphere. I wanted to do something to get everyone together again.”

Donations of at least $5 will be accepted at the door, which will cover the cost of a light lunch.

Considering that H&B used to make Louisville Slugger baseball bats, hockey sticks and golf clubs, O’Neil said any proceeds from the event will go towards three local organizations.

“I wanted to help to local community, so anything we raise will go towards Wallaceburg Minor Baseball, Wallaceburg Minor Hockey and the Baldoon Golf Club Junior Golf program,” she said. “Kids need this kind of stuff.”

The “open house” style event will run from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
