Mrs. Vina Margaret (nee Sterling) Murphy, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Sydenham Residence, in Wallaceburg, at the age of 90 years.
She was born in Port Lambton and was a daughter of the late Jesse and Rose (Metevier) Sterling.
Beloved wife of the late Lawrence Murphy (2004).
Loving mother of John (the late Melba) Murphy, Sandy (Lenard) Ouellette, Patrick (Connie) Murphy, Nancy (Robert) Lozon.
Sadly missed by her 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Kind sister of Mae Benoot, Verna Coleman, Alma Meloche, Dora Flynn and sister-in-law of Mildred Babcock.
Predeceased by her brothers Treff, Harvey, Leo, Felix, and sisters Leila Cadotte and Teeny Voisard.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart, C.W.L. for over 50 years.
Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Prayers will be Friday afternoon at 3:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 17, 2014 from Sacred Heart Church in Port Lambton, at 11:00 a.m.
She will lie in state at the church from 10-11 prior to the mass.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Port Lambton, Ontario.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Strings Are The Things or charity of your choice may be left at the funeral home.
As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in Memory of Vina Murphy.
