Well things are now moving to the final step in getting Edward Beresford a properly marked grave.

The Wallaceburg Veterans and Families Support Group and Edwards family as you know on Dec 13th held our first ever fundraising effort. It was a wonderful success. For those who don’t know, we started this to raise money for a headstone for Edward Beresford.

Who was in an unmarked grave after suddenly dying 2 1/2 years ago.

His family first raised money to repay Chatham-Kent so they could put a headstone on his grave.

Thanks to many people the headstone has been installed on Edward’s Grave on Tuesday May 13th.

The final step is happening at 1:00PM on May 31st at Riverview Cemetery, Family and friends, as well as Veterans and the public shall come together for a Headstone ceremony.

This will be the final step in a long journey for Edward’s family.

It is a time to have fellow Veterans to say farewell to a Comrade and for his family see that Edward finally lays in a property marked grave. Please join us on May 31st at 1:00 p.m. sharp at Riverview Cemetery.

The grave is located in the back of Riverview Cemetery between the inroad and the East exit Road near the train tracks.

There will be a reception at Stienoff Hall at St James Church downtown, there is lots of parking across the road from the Church.
