The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a second man in connection with this investigation.
As previously reported, on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 just before 12:30 a.m. police responded to an altercation between two men known to each other at a residence on Dufferin Avenue. A 19 year-old Walpole Island man was transported to the Sydenham District Hospital with life threatening head injuries. He was transferred to a hospital in London where he remains in critical condition.
On May 22, 2014, a 20 year-old Walpole Island man was arrested. He has been charged with attempt murder. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing on Wednesday, June 4, 2014.
Through investigation, police learned that another man was involved in the incident. An 18-year-old Wallaceburg man has been arrested and charged with obstructing police and accessory after the fact. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on Thursday, June 5, 2014.
