Joel Dick continues to dominate at South Buxton

Leamington’s Joel Dick capped off an incredible month of May with three more checkered flags, including his fifth straight feature win in the Schinkels Gourmet Meats UMP Modifieds on Saturday night at South Buxton Raceway.

Dick, who started in the second row, took the lead on lap three and never looked back.

Port Lambton’s Drew Smith started on the front row and finished seventh.

Smith was second in the dash and third in his heat.

Grande Pointe’s Tyler Lozon had to return his Tirecraft Sport Stocks feature checkered flag after his car failed tech inspection.

Merlin’s Steve Shaw was awarded the win.

Wallaceburg’s Gary Vyse, who won his heat race for a fourth straight Saturday earlier in the night, was knocked out of the feature in a lap three crash initiated by Shaw. Vyse finished 13th.

Wallaceburg’s Mike Lewis finished third in a close four-car battle to the checkered flag in the Westside Performance Plus UMP Late Models feature.

Gregg Haskell, of Chatham, was the winner.

Lewis won the pursuit earlier in the night.

Chatham’s Chris Ellerbeck won his second straight Autotech Bombers feature.

Port Lambton’s Caleb O’Leary, 13, finished second in his best showing of his rookie season while Wallaceburg’s Matt Conliffe, another rookie, placed sixth.
